Knowing more about the climate crisis is not the same as being able to do anything about it, and most courses stop at the first. This one is built to leave you with something to do — individually, in your community, and politically.

  • Short video input, with resources to go deeper on any of it.
  • A concrete action after each lesson, not a reading list.
  • The vetted products and companies you need to actually complete that action.

How it works

  1. 1

    Watch the lesson

Each module is a short video. No slides, no reading list, no homework — the whole guide is watchable in an evening.

  2. 2

See what it means for you

Every lesson says where the emissions in that part of life actually are, so effort goes where it counts rather than where it feels good.

  3. 3

    Act on it

Each lesson carries the vetted products, companies and concrete actions for its topic, so finishing one leaves you with something to do.

What is in it

It starts with the science and how to think about solutions at all, then goes through everyday life one area at a time — money, food, travel, home, waste, clothes — looking at where the emissions in each actually are and what to do about them. 9 lessons, in order, each ending with the vetted options and concrete actions for its topic.

  • Lesson 2 · Climate Change

This module breaks down the science behind climate change and answers what climate change is, how it works, why it happens, how human activity is connected to it and why we are running out of time. This module focuses on the root causes of climate change and looks at how we know what we know.

  • Lesson 4 · Individual Action

In this course, learners will explore sustainable alternatives to products in different categories, such as food, transportation, and housing. They will learn about the environmental impacts of different products and ways to make more sustainable choices. The course will also highlight examples of businesses that are leading the way in sustainable product design and production.

  • Lesson 5 · Money

Money is one of the biggest levers individuals have to combat the climate crisis. In this course you will learn how traditional money is fuelling the climate crisis invisibly and what anyone can do to change that.

  • Lesson 6 · Food

The global food system is broken, inefficient and destructive. Gladly (almost) anyone can be part of the solution by choosing what to eat. This session dives deep into our global food system, the challenges and provides actionable insights on what to change, globally and individually.

  • Lesson 8 · Waste & Resources

This lesson covers consumption more broadly and what happens to the things we no longer need. It will also help individuals reduce their plastic consumption and live a more sustainable lifestyle. Participants will learn about the environmental impact of plastic and explore alternative materials and products that are more sustainable. They will also learn practical tips and strategies for reducing plastic waste in their daily lives, from simple swaps to more significant changes.

No. Every lesson plays in full without an account. Signing in only adds the ability to tick lessons off and keep notes.

How long does it take?

Each lesson is a short video, and there are 9 of them. Most people watch a few at a time rather than all at once.

Do I need to know anything first?

No. It starts with what climate change is and why the timing matters, then moves through the parts of everyday life one at a time.

Is it finished?

The lessons listed here are. More modules are being written, and they appear on this page as they are ready — nothing here is a placeholder.
